The Future of Design Powered by AI
AI will reshape the design process and the role of the designer
Artificial intelligence is already playing a role in the design process in the form of tools like simulation and generative design. But what will the AI-powered design experience look like 10, 20, or 50 years down the road? Mike Haley, senior director of Machine Intelligence at Autodesk, gives us a glimpse into a future where co-designing with AI is intuitive and natural, where AI can help you not only generate designs, but sort and choose them, suit subjective aesthetic preferences, synthesize ideas, and suggest new ones.
About the speaker
Mike Haley leads the Machine Intelligence group at Autodesk Research where they identify, evaluate, and develop disruptive technologies that improve the practice of imagining, designing, and creating a better world. Formerly, Mike worked in research and product development in volumetric graphics, distributed media, and computer vision. Mike holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
